Shooting a hardcore punk show for the first time

I accepted an invite to an impromptu hardcore show and found myself drawn to some unplanned music photography. All of these were shot on my iPhone 15 Pro and edited in Lightroom. I really challenged myself to do two things with these shots - push the camera to its extremes so I could freeze motion as a match for the frenetic energy of the show, and try to emulate what stand out in my mind as classic, overexposed, mostly black and white photos of underground punk shows. This show featured five bands in a very dark skate shop demo space, so I was as excited to capture shots of skaters as I was the music happening at the top of the ramp. These bands were Westmain (friends of a friend), and Godseyes. I wasn’t familiar with either of their music but I really liked what I heard, and I walked away with some of my favorite photos of the year so far.
